In earlier August, MetaMask has released version 4.9.0, which features new functions such as Ethereum Name Service support over the Inter Planetary File System (IPFS), among others.

Therefore, you may find your MetaMask disabled, and you would receive an alert on your browser seeking your approval for new permissions like this on Chrome:

You’ll restore MetaMask once you’ve approved/added the new permissions.
