If you have a Brave Wallet 24 word seed phrase, you can only use it in Brave’s wallet.
Unfortunately, Brave’s 24 words seed phrases are non-standard (not BIP39 compliant), meaning Brave’s seeds are incompatible with MetaMask, MyCrypto, MEW, and other wallets. If you want to switch to a MetaMask wallet, you must send your funds to a brand new MetaMask wallet address.
Make sure you back up the new Seed Phrase / Secret Recovery Phrase and store it in a safe place.
If you haven’t used any of the addresses generated in that MetaMask wallet you’ve just created with the Brave’s 24 seed phrase, and you haven’t shared any of the addresses with anyone; it is recommended to delete that browser extension and start from scratch by downloading it from the official website https://metamask.io to create a brand new MetaMask 12 word Seed Phrase / Secret Recovery Phrase that is more standard.
For more information regarding this, please visit this issue posted on Brave’s Github Repo here.
To better communicate the importance of never sharing your Seed Phrase, we've changed the name of the phrase to "Secret Recovery Phrase". Learn more here.
