VET has its own main network, it is no longer an ERC20 token in the Ethereum network.
If you can see the VET funds in your address in a VeChain explorer like this: https://explore.vechain.org/ , you should be able to:
1) export the private key of that specific Ethereum address from your MetaMask wallet (make sure to move any ETH or ERC20 tokens out of the address before exporting the private key or Seed Phrase / Secret Recovery Phrase). To export your private key, see below:
- MetaMask extension: click the three dots > click view account details >reveal private key.
- MetaMask mobile app: settings> show private key for "account x"> click "show private key"
2) import that private key to any VET wallet that supports the same private key format.
Important: If you need a JSON file (keystore file), try using the IMtoken mobile app where you can import the private key/Seed Phrase / Secret Recovery Phrase and then export it in this JSON format. MetaMask does not have an option to export to a keystore file.
Be careful where you import that private key or Seed Phrase / Secret Recovery Phrase as it gives access to all funds that you may have in your Ethereum addresses.
To better communicate the importance of never sharing your seed phrase, we've changed the name of the phrase to "secret recovery phrase". Learn more here.
